The Benefits of Hiring an Organizer After a Renovation

You’ve just completed a big home renovation—congratulations! The paint is dry, the new countertops shine, and everything looks gorgeous. But now, the real work begins: getting the space organized so you can actually use it. That’s where we come in!

When you think of a perfect Maine home, you probably picture a cozy space with functional design, beautiful natural light, and a space that works for your unique lifestyle. Whether you're living in a charming coastal cottage, a rustic cabin, or a modern home nestled in the woods, one thing is clear: your home should reflect the rhythm of your life. And after a major renovation, you want to ensure your space not only looks beautiful but works efficiently—especially when it comes to organization.

While interior designers can create stunning, functional spaces, it’s professional organizers who can take your home to the next level, ensuring that everything has its place and flows seamlessly with your everyday life. That's why hiring a home organizer post-renovation can make all the difference.

Why Hire an Organizer After Your Renovation?

A post renovation organization project isn’t just about making your space look cute. Sure, we love a good before and after transformation, but we’re all about making things work better for you. Here’s why bringing in a pro after your remodel is the smartest move:

  1. We Make It Work for You:
Your designer might have nailed your aesthetic, but we’re the ones who make it function for your everyday life. We don’t just put things in drawers—we think about how you use your kitchen, what you need to access daily, and how to make sure you’re not constantly digging through piles of mismatched Tupperware (who needs that stress?!).

  2. Personalized Storage That Actually Works:
We know how to create personalized, custom storage solutions that make your life easier. Whether it’s designing a drawer just for your spices or coming up with a system that ensures your kids can reach their snacks without pulling everything out of the pantry, we’ve got you covered.

  3. A System That Matches Your Lifestyle:
Your home is unique, and so are you. We’re not about cookie-cutter solutions. We design storage systems based on how you live—so if you bake every weekend, we’ll create a baking station that keeps all your tools and ingredients organized. If you entertain regularly, we’ll make sure your drink station is ready to go. Need a home for your ever-growing collection of water bottles? Consider it done.

A Deep Dive Into Our Latest Project: Kitchen and Pantry Organization

We recently had the opportunity to work with a client on their kitchen and pantry after a remodel here in Maine. Together, we designed a system that made cooking, storing, and finding what they need easier than ever. The pantry organization included everything from a designated spot for baking, to pull-out shelves for pantry staples, all thoughtfully planned based on the family’s needs. Let me tell you—we had so much fun making sure everything was not only stylish but super functional. Here’s a peek at some of the genius (and practical!) ideas we came up with:

The Spice Drawer:

Gone are the days of digging through a cluttered spice cabinet. We created a spice drawer with a tiered system so everything is organized, accessible, and easy to grab. No more accidentally using cinnamon instead of paprika!

Tupperware (With Lids On, Always!):

We’ve all been there—trying to find the right lid for the right container. No more. We organized Tupperware so lids stay with their matching containers, neatly arranged and ready for use.

The Ultimate Drink Station:

Coffee? Tea? Both? We created a designated drink station with space for mugs, coffee, tea, and all the accoutrements. It’s all about easy access when you need that morning pick-me-up.

Charcuterie Board Essentials Drawer:

We all know a great charcuterie board is an art form, so we created a special drawer just for board essentials—cheese knives, tongs, and all the necessary accessories to make your setup complete.

Serveware and Platters, Sorted:

No more cluttered cabinets! We set up a specific drawer just for serving platters and dishes, so they’re always ready when you need them. The designer custom created a few areas where these items could be stored, but we needed to figure out what size platters/boards would fit where and how they made sense based on location in the kitchen.

Hosting a dinner party or casual get-together? We made sure all serving trays, bowls, and other entertaining essentials are easily accessible, so you’ll never scrambling to find the perfect platter.

Food and Snack Storage:

We made a dedicated snack zone so everyone in the family can grab their favorite munchies without creating a pantry disaster. Need to go grocery shopping and stock up for this week’s dinner— no problem! Clear containers, clearly defined zones and simple labels make for an effortless daily routine.

Baking Bliss:

We set up a functional baking station, with baking tins and sheets stored high, and a pull-out drawer for all your dry ingredients like flour and sugar—because who wants to climb up to get that giant bag of flour? Not us!

Cooking + Appliances:

Cooking flow is important, and we made sure pots, pans, and utensils are within arm’s reach of the stove, making meal prep a breeze. In addition to that, we needed overflow storage of less frequently used mini appliances. This cabinet was the perfect fit, and home to keep these items together. (hello zones)

Hydration Station:

Water bottles can take over your space faster than you can say “hydrate!” We dedicated a space just for them, keeping this kitchen organized and easy to navigate. Our client had her preferences on location, and we were all ears. Close by the door when coming and going, and this upper cabinet was empty, making it the perfect space to showcase their collection of water bottles. Not only for fun, but for function!

A Key Takeaway:

Our client faced a real challenge when the entire footprint of her kitchen and pantry was reimagined. After 20 years of knowing exactly where her cookware lived, suddenly, everything was different—and that can feel a bit like learning to drive in a new car! But here’s the thing: we completely revamped the flow and layout of her new space to work with the beautiful design, while also making some savvy adjustments to improve her day-to-day life. Though the changes were unfamiliar at first, she’s thrilled with how everything now flows together, and how much easier her routines are.

Intuitive organizing isn’t just about location; it’s about finding the right balance of location, flow, and giving each category the proper space. It’s a little like this: you wouldn’t cram three appliances into a tiny drawer, and you certainly wouldn’t stick utensils in a giant cabinet (unless you want to spend a lot of time hunting for a spoon). The goal is to make it make sense—so everything works in harmony!
